“The Last Romantic” is an amusing and pointed critique of Berlin’s dating scene. It tells the story of the last man in the city searching for a committed and monogamous relationship. It was written as a commentary on the city’s love for debauched behaviour, though with little sympathy for its protagonist. This song, two subsequent singles and the E.P. as a whole will soundtrack a T.V. show of the same name, scheduled for release in 2023. “Never Been To Berghain” is an anti-Brexit tour de force based on the author’s time in Berlin and was recorded the previous summer at L.A. Recordings, with producer Liam Blomqvist. It features some of Berlin’s most sought-after session musicians including Sophie Sutton, Anna Vaverkova and Davis West amongst others.
